Beta-Glucuronidases are routinely used for the enzymatic hydrolysis of glucuronides from urine, plasma, and other fluids prior to analysis by enzyme immunoassay, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, or other means. The exact amount of Beta-Glucuronidase needed will depend on the specific conditions used and must be determined empirically. UCT offers a variety of Beta-Glucuronidase formulations to include Selectrazyme, Abalonase™ and Abalonase™+, and our all new Abalonase™ Ultra.
Selectrazyme:
Available in both liquid and lyophilized forms
Liquid enzyme activity > 100,000 units/mL
Lyophilized enzyme activity 1,000,000 – 3,200,000 units/g
Abalone derived enzyme
Better hydrolysis efficiency for opiates, benzodiazepines, and steroids than Beta-glucuronidase derived from other species
Sourced from cultured abalone
Wild abalone populations are not impacted
Constant and quick supply of product by using a farm raised source
Abalonase™ and Abalonase™+ possess enhanced catalytic efficiency, where half the units of activity provide the same metabolic conversion rate as a traditional-abalone derived enzyme. Acceptable hydrolysis of Morphine-6-Glucuronide and Codeine-6-Glucuronide, crucial urinary metabolites known for their difficulty converting back to free form, was achieved in a reasonable time frame without the addition of exorbitant amounts of enzyme.
Avoid overloading your sample with costly enzyme formulations by utilizing UCT’s all-new, highly concentrated Abalonase™ Ultra. With activity levels at an upwards of 150,000 fishman units/mL, this 3X’s concentrated β-glucuronidase can be used for real time and room temperature hydrolysis for high-throughput drug screening applications. Within minutes of introducing it to your samples, the Abalonase™ Ultra formula can deconjugate the toughest metabolites to hydrolyze including benzodiazepines, opioids, cannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids. This purified beta-glucuronidase provides half the activity units with the same conversion rate as a traditional abalone-derived enzyme. Conversion of Morphine-6-Glucuronide and Codeine-6-Glucuronide, crucial metabolites that are typically difficult to hydrolyze, is achieved in a reasonable time frame without addition of exorbitant amounts of enzyme.
Derivatizing Reagents
SELECTRA-SIL® Derivatizing Reagents are packaged by weight, but are liquid in form. UCT’s derivatizing reagents are synthesized and purified by UCT to exacting standards of purity and consistency. The reagents are packaged under nitrogen, sealed with a PTFE stopper and crimp topped to maintain an inert atmosphere. If stability of the reagents are a concern, UCT offers reagents packaged in sealed glass ampules, packaged under an inert atmosphere.
